About
A company building one thing well.
LUYA Labs is building a home nutrition system that lets a household grow and harvest fresh food on a countertop. We are pre-production, and this page says exactly where we are.

What we are
A product company, not a content brand.
We design hardware, write growing software, run growing experiments, and produce seed trays. Everything published on this site exists to explain that product or the research behind it.
Why we started
The last appliance the kitchen is missing.
Refrigeration, dishwashing and coffee all moved into the home when the technology became reliable enough to be boring. Growing has not, because it still asks for skill, attention and forgiveness.
Our thesis is that the growing itself can be made reliable enough to disappear — and that when it does, fresh food becomes a daily habit rather than a weekly purchase.
Where we are
Progress, stated plainly.
- Done
- Working prototypes growing real crops on repeatable cycles; a tray and recipe system; an app that pairs, scans and monitors.
- In progress
- Manufacturing readiness, the Founder program with real households, and expanding the validated crop library.
- Research direction
- How controlled environments affect nutrition, flavour and consistency — the work of Luya Lab.
How we publish
Rules we hold ourselves to.
- Sources or silence
- Factual statements carry a reference, or they do not appear.
- Versioned claims
- Specifications are published once frozen, with the product version they describe.
- Failures included
- Growing cycles that went wrong are part of the record, not edited out.
- No borrowed credibility
- We do not display an institution's name or logo without a signed agreement and their approval.
