The whole system, explained.
A device that grows food is only useful if the trays, the program, the app and the support keep working together. This section documents each part — including what it does not do.

A controlled growing environment for the kitchen counter.
Luya X-1 holds eight trays across two levels. Each level manages its own light, irrigation, airflow and climate, so two crops with different needs can grow at the same time.
You insert a pre-seeded tray and scan it. The system recognises the crop, loads its growing recipe, and runs the cycle. You come back to harvest.
Scan. Grow. Harvest.
- Scan
- The app reads the tray and loads the right program — no settings to choose.
- Grow
- Light, water, nutrients and climate are managed continuously for about a week.
- Harvest
- Cut what the meal needs; the rest keeps growing until you come back.
What you are actually buying into.
Each part is documented on its own page, because each one can be the reason a household succeeds or gives up.
- The device
- Eight tray positions, two independently controlled levels.
- The app
- Pairing, scanning, live view, alerts and harvest records.
- Seed trays
- Pre-seeded and scannable — the consumable that starts every cycle.
- Growing recipes
- Per-crop, per-stage environment programs.
- Science & support
- Published methods, honest limits, and help when something fails.
Pre-production, and described as such.
Luya X-1 is not yet in general sale. Hardware is in manufacturing readiness and the Founder program is running real cycles in real households.
The manufacturing specification is frozen and published in full on the specifications page. Certifications, measured noise level and retail pricing are still to come.
From unboxing to the next tray: pairing, scanning, seven days of automated growing, harvest, cleaning and replanting — including what happens when something goes wrong.
Eight tray positions, two controlled levels, multi-spectrum lighting, automated irrigation, airflow and climate control, cameras and a touch display — and the limits of each.
Pair the device, scan trays, watch a live view and 7-day time-lapse, get told when to act, and keep a record of every harvest.
Pre-seeded, scannable trays start every cycle, and a per-crop growing recipe runs it. Here is how the consumable side of the system works, and what it costs you in effort.
The crops validated for Luya X-1 so far: how each one tastes, roughly how long it takes, and the simplest way to eat it.
Full specifications for the LUYA X-1 smart indoor growing system: dimensions, weight, tank capacity, power, connectivity, sensors and operating environment.
Straight answers about growing cycles, the app, failures, trays, space, cameras and availability — including the things Luya X-1 does not do.
