We would like to work with researchers on crop composition, growing conditions and everyday use. Here are the questions, the resources we can contribute and the terms that protect research independence.

- How does harvested-to-order compare with the same crop through a normal supply chain?

- Which environmental variables actually drive differences in composition, flavour or texture?

- How much does household variability affect outcomes across many homes?

- Publication rights
- Researchers publish their findings whether or not the results favour LUYA.
- Funding disclosed
- Any LUYA contribution is disclosed in the publication.
- Data and privacy
- Participant and device data handling, anonymisation, retention and deletion agreed before any study begins.
- Attribution
- Authorship follows the field's norms, not our marketing calendar.
No institution, laboratory or researcher is named on this site before an agreement is signed and approved by both parties. That rule has not changed; the collaboration below is named because it now meets it.
University of Connecticut.
A formal research collaboration agreement between LUYA and the University of Connecticut is in place. It is the first institutional agreement we have signed, and the first institution we have named anywhere on this site.
We will publish what the work produces when there is something to publish, under the terms above: researchers publish whether or not the result favours us, and our contribution is disclosed.
One disclosure, because it matters for how this should be read: LUYA's Chief Agriculture Scientist, Dr. Zhenlei Xiao, is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut. A collaboration is not the same thing as independent verification, and we will not describe it as such.
